First Stop: Hong Kong – Exhibition

From March 10 to 12, Wenzhou Chuhan joined the Zhejiang Famous Brands Pavilion at the 2026 International Battery and Energy Storage Technology Expo.

This is one of the world's top events in the energy sector, bringing together industry leaders, cutting-edge technologies, and international buyers from across the globe. As a key member of the Zhejiang delegation, Wenzhou Chuhan stood alongside more than 30 leading new energy companies from Zhejiang, showcasing the strength of "Made in Zhejiang" to the world.

Over the three days, our booth was busy from morning till night:

International clients: Buyers and professionals from the Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Poland, and Romania showed strong interest in our charging piles, energy storage systems, and inverters.

Domestic industry leaders: We shared the stage with companies like REPT BATTERO, CATL, and CRRC, exchanging ideas on how charging pile technology and energy storage systems can work together.

At the "Go Global from Zhejiang" International Sourcing Matchmaking Forum, held alongside the exhibition, we had face-to-face meetings with over 200 professional buyers from Europe, Southeast Asia, Japan, and South Korea. Several clients expressed interest in working with us on the spot, and follow-ups are already underway.

On the last day of the expo, we gathered in front of our booth for a group photo. Everyone looked tired, but more than that, we were excited – because we knew this was just the beginning.

Second Stop: Kuala Lumpur – Market

On March 13, no sooner had the Hong Kong exhibition wrapped up than the Wenzhou Chuhan team headed straight to Malaysia.

Why Malaysia?

Because this is one of the fastest-growing new energy markets in Southeast Asia. Under its official plans, Malaysia aims to increase the share of renewable energy in its power mix to 31% by 2025 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Solar, energy storage, charging infrastructure – every segment is expanding rapidly.

Over six days in Malaysia, we kept a packed schedule:

Meeting clients: From Kuala Lumpur to Selangor and down to Johor, we visited solar project developers, energy storage system integrators, charging pile operators, and local distributors. These face-to-face conversations gave us a much clearer picture of what clients really need – not just technical specifications, but local adaptation, certification support, and after-sales service.

Walking the market: Between meetings, we made a point of walking the streets of Kuala Lumpur. We looked at the city through "new energy eyes" to see what the market really looks like:

In a mall parking lot, we saw plenty of charging stations – but petrol cars were parked in the charging spots.

In the suburban residential areas, less than one in ten rooftops had solar panels. Plenty of sunshine, but grid connection issues and recent policy changes have made many homeowners hesitate.

At an industrial park, factory rooftops were covered in solar panels. Commercial and industrial customers are far more enthusiastic about self-consumption than residential users.

At the airport, we spotted a construction site for a storage project – a 10MW/36MWh solar-plus-storage facility that will power KLIA's main terminal, set to begin operations in 2027.

Spotting Chinese brands: Walking through Kuala Lumpur, we saw Chinese EVs everywhere – BYD, Neta, Xpeng, Geely. It reminded us that the Chinese supply chain is already deeply embedded in Southeast Asia. And Wenzhou Chuhan is becoming part of that story.

Between the Two Stops: From "Showcase" to "On the Ground"

Hong Kong was about showing – letting the world see Wenzhou Chuhan's technology and products.

Malaysia was about grounding – seeing the real market needs and the challenges of localization.

The gap between the two stops wasn't measured in miles. It was measured in understanding:

At the expo, clients asked, "Can your inverters handle tropical conditions?" In Malaysia, we saw firsthand the challenges of operating equipment in high heat and humidity.

At the expo, clients asked, "How do charging piles and storage work together?" In Kuala Lumpur, we saw the gap between EV growth and charging infrastructure development.

At the expo, clients asked, "What certifications do you have?" In Malaysia, we started looking into the SIRIM certification process to prepare for market entry.

March's Footprints Are Just the Beginning

From Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur – nine days, two journeys.

What we brought back was a thick stack of business cards, dozens of potential leads, a much deeper understanding of the Southeast Asian market, and the bonds of a team that worked hard together far from home.

More importantly, we confirmed what we had suspected: Southeast Asia's new energy market is shifting from policy-driven to market-driven. And Wenzhou Chuhan's DC-side products – charging piles, energy storage, inverters, solar – combined with 15 years of experience, are a good fit for what this market actually needs.

March is coming to a close, but Wenzhou Chuhan's journey outward won't stop here.

Next stop? Stay tuned.
